I’ve been holding back on this for a while now, waiting for my Evil Girlfriend to officially kick off this project before making my announcement. I am exceedingly stoked to announce that one of my short stories has been chosen for a very cool anthology project.
The story is “Pride and Joy,” and this will be its first publication. The tale is about Elaine, daughter of a renowned armorer, seeking vengeance against the arena champion who ruined her father and her life. It was a fun write, with just the right balance of justifiable mean-spiritedness to make me snarl as I typed it out.
The story is gong to be included in Evil Girlfriend Media’s upcoming anthology “Women in Practical Armor.” Yep, you read correctly – a collection of stories celebrating strong female combatants intelligent enough to actually dress for the occasion. Stories which respect women enough to acknowledge that they can bring more to the battle than a wink and a wiggle. Much more.
EGM is running a Kickstarter campaign to raise production and promotional funds so this project can make a big splash when it hits the market. If this sounds like a project you’d like to support, please visit their Kickstarter page.
Rewards for contributors to the crowdfunding drive include bookmarks, art cards, ebook and paperback editions of the anthology, keychains and much, much more. Special incentive packages will be announced as the drive progresses. Keep tabs on the kickstarter page for more details!
Help spread the word. Help us give readers out there worthwhile fighting-female role models to balance out the horde of steel-bikini bimbos mass media churns out.
